Military-inspired, cargo-style trousers for all round performance when trekking, climbing or scrambling across technical terrain.
Hard-wearing outdoor trousers constructed from a composite blend of breathable and abrasion, water and wind-resistant fabrics. Their main component is military-grade Utexbel cotton, a rip-stop, water and wind-resistant material with a DWR coating.
Four-way stretch fabric from Italian manufacturer Serates provides breathability and enhanced range of movement at key areas around the crotch, thighs and rear. Stronger than steel Dyneema® replaces conventional knee protection for optimum abrasion resistance from scuffs and scrapes at a minimal carry burden. High tenacity Cordura® reinforces the ankle and lower leg as typical areas of greater wear.
Storage capacity is a core strength of the Charge Trousers, building on the thought behind traditional cargo or military trousers. Two large bellow pockets contain enough storage for essential expedition items such as an OS map, spare beanie hat or pocket first aid kit. There are two hand pockets plus the addition of two hip pockets with further internal sleeves for sensitive essentials such as phones, passes or cards.
These multiple storage options replace back pockets which have been stripped from the design in favour of a stretch fabric panel. The stretch panel providing much needed breathability and improving comfort especially when carrying a backpack. All pocket sizes and placements have been considered with technical climbing and harness wearing in mind.
Additional details include hook and loop hip and knee adjustments and press stud ankle adjusters to maximise thermal retention and minimise the ingress of dirt, moisture and snow. Internal boot hooks also feature for securing to technical footwear. Double press stud and zip fly with all zips sourced from YKK as industry leaders.
