Utilising traditional old-school techniques in their New Forest workshop, our expert craftsmen operate as a small close knit team – meticulous with their work and attention to detail. Drawing on natural, environmentally friendly tanning techniques and using leather which is a bi-product of the food and dairy industry from responsibly managed farms.

Vegetable Tanning

One of the oldest and most widespread leather production methods in use today. Vegetable tanning involves using natural vegetable tannins to alter the protein structure of the hide, causing it to become leather. This organic process gives three key practical benefits in preserving, strengthening and colouring the hide.

Black Like Our Souls

Black PVD Coating

Physical Vapor Deposition coating defines a variety of vacuum coating methods involving a black coating or thin film applied to the material in question. The addition of a PVD coating strengthens and hardens the target material and increases resistance to water, wear and tear and friction. PVD cannot be removed once applied and will not wear off.
