The Orbital Climbing Backpack is a grey 30L technical backpack constructed from advanced ripstop fabric reinforced with Dyneema® fibres for unmatched durability in demanding alpine conditions. Designed for mountaineering, ice climbing and multi-pitch ascents. Features integrated RECCO® rescue technology, an ice axe attachment, a detachable climbing helmet cover and a snow-shedding EVA back panel.
The Orbital 30L is built around an advanced ripstop fabric incorporating Dyneema® woven into a polyester and nylon base construction at a precise 8% Dyneema®, 49% polyester, 43% nylon ratio. The result is a pack body engineered to resist tearing and abrasion at the points where rock, ice and climbing equipment will test it most. The main fabric body, which has a 9700 HH rating, has been treated with a PFC-free C0 durable water repellent (DWR) finish for reliable protection from rain, sleet and snow.
The snow-shedding EVA back panel is a deliberate construction decision for winter ascents. Closed-cell EVA foam resists moisture absorption, preventing snow and ice from compressing and freezing against the contact surface — keeping the wearer warmer, drier and unencumbered by unnecessary weight gain on long approaches.
Every feature on the Orbital 30L earns its place through function: ice axe attachment with bungee retention, a top cinching strap for rope management, a detachable climbing helmet cover, detachable compression straps for varied load configurations, and integrated RECCO® rescue technology for remote terrain. Tested to a 13kg load weight.

FEATURES
Quick-Access Side Pocket with YKK® Waterproof Zip
A side pocket with a YKK® waterproof zip allows fast access to small items without opening the main compartment. The waterproof zip keeps contents protected from rain and moisture.
Multiple Webbing Attachment Points
Webbing loops distributed across the pack exterior provide attachment points for carabiners, gear, or additional equipment. These are fixed points suitable for standard clip-in attachments.
Adjustable Hip Belt
An adjustable hip belt transfers a portion of the pack's load from the shoulders to the hips, reducing strain during longer approaches. The belt is adjustable to fit a range of waist sizes.
Reflective Detailing
Low-light visibility enhancement for early morning runs, evening hikes, or roadside exposure. Increases safety without compromising the garment's muted aesthetic in daylight.
Ripstop Nylon
The pack body is made from ripstop nylon reinforced with Dyneema® fibres for enhanced tear and abrasion resistance. One of the strongest fibres by weight, Dyneema® delivers lasting durability.
Dyneema® Reinforcements
One of the world's strongest fibres by weight, providing exceptional cut and abrasion resistance. Reinforces high-wear areas without adding unnecessary bulk.
EVA Snow-Shedding Back Panel
The back panel is constructed from moulded EVA foam with a surface profile designed to prevent snow accumulation. This reduces moisture ingress and keeps the panel's contact with the back consistent.
Side Roll Top Securing Points
Attachment points on the side of the roll top allow the pack to be secured at a reduced volume when not fully loaded. This limits internal load movement and maintains a stable carry profile.
Ice Axe Attachment with Bungee
A dedicated ice axe loop with bungee retention holds an axe securely against the pack exterior. The bungee keeps the axe fixed in position and allows for straightforward attachment and removal.
Detachable Side Compression Straps (Upper and Lower)
Upper and lower compression straps on each side pull the load inward to reduce pack volume and limit movement. Both straps are detachable when not required.
Top Cinching Strap for Climbing Rope
A top strap secures a coiled climbing rope during approach and descent, keeping it stable and accessible without taking up space inside the main compartment.
Detachable Climbing Helmet Cover (Stored in Internal Pocket)
A helmet cover is included and stores in a dedicated internal pocket when not in use. It detaches from the pack to carry a climbing helmet separately once removed on the approach or summit.
Emergency Signalling Information
Emergency signalling information is printed directly on the pack for reference in the field. No separate card or document is required.
Internal YKK® Zip Storage Pocket with Key Clip
An internal zipped pocket with a YKK® zip and integrated key clip provides secure storage for small valuables. The key clip prevents keys from being loose in the main compartment.
Zipped Roll Top Opening
The roll top zip is the primary access point into the main compartment. The zip provides added security to the opening, keeping contents enclosed when the pack is in use.
