Beyond Possible: One Soldier, Fourteen Peaks.

Nimral ‘Nims’ Purja: Beyond Possible: One Soldier, Fourteen Peaks.

Nims wasn’t always a climber. He was born at sea-level and not from the traditional Sherpa family. Nims left for The Gurkhas in 2003, age 20, where he served for 5 years before passing Special Forces selection and joining the SBS (Special Boat Service) where he served for a further 10 years.

Nims stands as one of the mountaineering greats and will continue to break the norm and push the boundaries of what is humanly possible. His records will take years to break if they even are. He embodies everything that Thrudark stands for.

Nims has been helping design and tests our extreme cold weather summit suit to be the best summit suit in the world. The suit has grown and developed over the course of Project Possible under constant scrutiny from the worlds highest mountains.

Beyond Possible: One Soldier, Fourteen Peaks.

Last year – tackling obstacles after obstacles, dealing with multiple avalanches, changing the routes from normal to the most technical route for everyone’s safety, trail blazing and setting fixed lines for more than 19 hrs on each consecutive day on the summit push, Nims finally made it to the summit of Annapurna possible.

For the first time ever, Nims is telling his story in-depth, which comes from directly from his heart. In the book he covers all aspects of his journey including the fundraising, multiple rescues on the death zone, dealing with life-threatening situations, mountain politics, family issues and his bold move on resigning from UKSF. But more importantly, he covers what he had to overcome, what he was thinking when he went through the unbearable pain it caused.
